Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with autism who is non-verbal, ensuring access to a differentiated curriculum tailored to their learning and communication needs
 - Support the pupil with personal care needs (e.g. toileting, hygiene, feeding) in a respectful and professional manner, promoting independence wherever possible
 - Work alongside the class teacher, SENCO and external specialists (such as Speech and Language Therapists) to implement strategies to promote communication and engagement
 - Use alternative communication methods to reinforce speech and language development
 - Observe and record progress, feeding back to teachers and parents as part of a collaborative support plan
 - Uphold school safeguarding, inclusion and behaviour policies at all times, ensuring the pupilâ??s safety, dignity and wellbeing
 
About You- Experience if working with children with autism and communication difficulties, ideally in a school or early years setting.
 - Confidence in supporting a non-verbal child, using a range of communication tools and strategies
 - A caring and sensitive approach to personal care needs, understanding the importance of maintaining dignity and respect
 - A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
