About the Role: Horizon Teachers are working in partnership with a Primary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth and are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our team from
after the February half-term break. This is a
full-time position, working closely with the class teacher to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting pupils’ learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Assisting with classroom activities, group work, and one-to-one support
- Providing support for individuals and groups of children for learning activities, attending to additional learning needs
- On occasion, being responsible for supervising the whole class e.g. reading a story to enable the Class Teacher to work with an individual or group
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
- Supporting children with personal, social, and emotional development
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other staff
- Taking pupils to specialist lessons and after school clubs/activities, including the dismissal of those pupils at the end of the session
The Ideal Candidate Will:- Have experience working within EYFS (school or nursery setting)
- Have a level 2 or 3 childcare or early years qualification (desired but essential)
- Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about early years education
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
