About the role
Horizon Teachers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils in a nurturing school environment. This role involves working closely with children who have SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to children aged 3-5, both individually and in small groups.
• Assist pupils with SEND, particularly those with ASC and complex learning needs.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents to support pupil development.

 
What we're looking for

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Teaching Assistance (or equivalent).
• Experience working in a school or nursery setting with children aged 3-5.
• Strong understanding of child development and early years education.
• Patience, flexibility, and confidence in supporting children of varying abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Previous experience in a SEND or SEN setting is essential.
• Knowledge of how SEND conditions affect learning and behaviour.
• Ability to support pupils with communication and/or physical needs.
