Horizon Teachers is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the London Borough of Southwark. This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September, working across Years 7 to 11 with students who have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties. This role is perfect for someone considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or SEND support.
The Role:- Provide in-class support to students with additional needs across a range of subjects
- Work one-to-one and in small groups to help students access the curriculum
- Support pupils in managing their behaviour, engagement, and confidence
- Collaborate with teaching staff and the SEND department to implement personalised support strategies
- Gain valuable experience in a dynamic and inclusive school setting
About You:- A recent graduate (any relevant subject) with a strong interest in education
- Experience working with young people or individuals with additional needs is desirable
- Confident, patient, and enthusiastic
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of students
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
