Horizon Teachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Gospel Oak in the London Borough of Camden. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team for the full academic year.
 
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). You will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SENCO to ensure each student can access learning and reach their full potential.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assist classroom teachers in adapting learning materials and strategies.
  • Help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record studentsâ?? progress and behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
 
What Weâ??re Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, ideally in a school setting.
  • A patient, flexible and empathetic approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
