Horizon Teachers is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in South East London starting September 2025. The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, both within small groups and on a 1:1 basis. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help deliver tailored support that enables every child to reach their potential. Your role will include supporting learning across the curriculum, promoting independence, and helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language Needs)
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to adapt resources and learning activities
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs) and EHCP targets
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Contribute to daily routines and classroom organisation
