Horizon Teachers is working closely with a welcoming Primary school in Croydon, who are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025, for the full academic year, to support a pupil with Autism and Challenging Behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where your SEND experience and understanding of Autism will be highly valued and supported.

The Role:

• Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis, both in the classroom and during lunch breaks.
• Support the pupil academically and socially, providing consistent emotional support.
• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure pupils receive the individualised care they need to thrive.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, especially SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour with a calm and proactive approach.
• A natural ability to empathise, motivate, and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Good understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Someone who's patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference.
