We are seeking a
dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive secondary school in South East
London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA or psychology/education graduate who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need extra support to thrive.
The Role:- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, including those with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assist teachers in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies in line with studentsâ?? individual support plans.
- Build trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent and supportive adult in their school experience.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure students make academic and emotional progress.
The Ideal Candidate:- Has previous experience working with SEN students (essential); experience with SEMH or behaviour support is highly desirable.
- Is patient, resilient, and empathetic with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Can stay calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour in a positive, consistent way.
- Is a team player who communicates well with staff, students, and parents.
- Ideally holds a psychology, education, or related degree â?? though this is not essential.
