Horizon Teachers are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join an Ofsted Outstanding' Alternative Provision in East London. This is a highly regarded specialist setting that supports children and young people with Complex Needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). The school offers a personalised curriculum that meets each learner's physical, sensory, and cognitive needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, personal care, and independence.
Classes are small, typically 68 students, and benefit from high levels of support from skilled Teaching Assistants and therapists. The school has exceptional facilities including sensory rooms, hydrotherapy, and accessible outdoor learning spaces. You will be joining a warm, collaborative team where every member of staff plays a vital role in each pupil's development and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate:- Experienced teaching pupils with PMLD and Complex Needs
- Confident delivering a multi-sensory, student-led curriculum
- Knowledgeable in communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton or Intensive Interaction
- Comfortable with personal care and medical needs (training provided where necessary)
- Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent SEND teaching experience
