About the Role
An established and high-performing sixth form college is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Health & Social Care Teacher to join their successful Social Sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified educator with strong subject knowledge and a passion for supporting post-16 learners.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Health & Social Care programmes, helping students to develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding required to progress into higher education or employment in the health and social care sector.

Typical units of study include:
  • Human Lifespan Development
  • Working in Health and Social Care
  • Health, Safety and Security in Care Settings
  • Psychological and Sociological Perspectives in Health and Social Care
In addition to teaching, you will contribute to curriculum development, provide tailored support and feedback to learners, and play an active role in maintaining the departmentâ??s high standards of achievement.

Person Specification Essential:
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) in Health & Social Care or a related discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS, or equivalent) or a willingness to gain one.
  • A sound understanding of the BTEC Health & Social Care curriculum at Levels 2 and 3.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student success.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience teaching in a sixth form or FE setting.
  • Experience of internal verification or assessment of BTEC qualifications.
