Key Responsibilities

  • Support class teachers in delivering planned lessons, activities and interventions.
  • Provide effective support to pupils across Reception and Year 1 in group and whole class settings.
  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support to identified pupils to help them access learning and make strong progress.
  • Assist with planning, preparation and development of learning resources.
  • Observe, monitor and record pupil achievement, progress and behaviour, and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, purposeful learning environment.
  • Support the social, emotional and pastoral needs of pupils within the school community.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals to support pupil needs.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who:
  • Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally with early years and Key Stage 1 pupils.
  • Is passionate about supporting children’s learning, wellbeing and development.
  • Has a good understanding of early years pedagogy and the needs of Reception/Year 1 children.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills with children, colleagues and parents.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is organised, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards of practice.
  • Holds relevant qualifications or training in education, child development, or related areas (Desirable)
