Horizon Teachers are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to support a range of secondary schools across South East London. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your teaching experience, inspire young people, and help ensure learning continues smoothly when permanent staff are absent.
Day-to-day supply rates: £135–£170 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role

As a Supply Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in keeping lessons on track when class teachers are unavailable. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, support students’ learning, and foster a positive, focused atmosphere where every pupil can engage and succeed.

QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is required.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and adapt activities to suit a range of learners
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and school leadership teams
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage active student participation
  • Supervise classes throughout the school day, including during break and lunchtime if required
 
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (any subject welcome)
  • Strong classroom management skills and a flexible, proactive approach
  • Confidence working with different year groups and learning needs
