A vibrant, creative and inclusive primary school in the heart of Camden is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs. You will work within a warm, nurturing community that celebrates diversity and places strong emphasis on curiosity, creativity and wellbeing.

About the Role
In this role, you will support a child on a one-to-one basis within a mainstream classroom. The pupil may have needs relating to autism, ADHD, or non-verbal communication, and will require consistent, thoughtful and personalised support. Your responsibilities will include -

  • Supporting the pupil to access learning, participate confidently and develop independence.
  • Using a range of strategies to support pupils with SEND, including visual aids, sensory tools and alternative communication methods.
  • Working closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external specialists to implement tailored learning and behaviour plans.
  • Helping to meet EHCP targets through structured interventions and meaningful, high-quality support.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Contributing to a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school's creative and community-driven ethos.

 
About You
We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting children with autism, ADHD or complex communication needs.
  • Patient, calm, and able to use initiative when adapting support moment by moment.
  • Skilled or willing to learn methods for supporting non-verbal pupils.
  • A strong communicator who can work collaboratively with staff and parents.
  • Positive, resilient and committed to helping every child thrive.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and the belief that every child can achieve.
