About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative
Year 1 Class Teacher to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Sutton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real impact in the classroom and support our pupils as they progress through their early years of education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, ensuring excellent progress for all pupils, and contributing positively to our warm school community.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.
- Create a positive, nurturing learning environment that promotes independence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to engage all learners, including those with SEND or EAL needs.
- Support the transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1, ensuring continuity and progression.
Assessment & Marking- Carry out effective assessment for learning, both formative and summative.
- Mark and provide high-quality, constructive feedback in line with the schoolâ??s marking and assessment policy.
- Track and monitor pupil progress, identifying next steps and planning appropriate interventions where necessary.
- Prepare and share accurate assessment data with senior leaders and parents.
Classroom & Behaviour Management- Establish and maintain excellent behaviour management using positive strategies.
- Ensure pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.
- Maintain an organised, stimulating classroom environment, including displays that celebrate pupil work and promote learning.
