Horizon Teachers are currently working with a co-educational Secondary School in Greenwich, South London, who are looking to hire an experienced Lead Science Technician on a long-term basis.
This Lead Science Technician job in Greenwich will be offering a competitive daily rate of £95 – £115, depending on experience.
To be considered for this position, applicants MUST have previous experience working as a Science Technician within a secondary school. Applications from candidates without secondary school Science Technician experience will not be successful.
The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of secondary school science laboratories and will be confident supporting the delivery of practical Science lessons across the curriculum. You will play a key role in the smooth running of the Science Department, ensuring laboratories, equipment and resources are prepared, maintained and managed to a high standard.
The School is Looking For:

An experienced Lead Science Technician who can effectively support the day-to-day running of a busy Science Department
Applicants must have previous experience working as a Science Technician within a secondary school – this is an essential requirement for the role
Someone with strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, chemicals and appropriate health and safety requirements
A confident and organised individual capable of preparing equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Someone able to support and coordinate the work of the Science Technician team and work closely with teaching staff across the department
Someone with excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills
Someone available to interview over the coming weeks with a view to starting ASAP

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable.
