Horizon Teachers are currently working with a co-educational Secondary School in Greenwich, South London, who are looking for Daily Cover Supervisors to join them on a part-time, flexible basis.

This Cover Supervisor job in Greenwich is perfect for those looking for the flexibility of daily supply work and who are unable to commit to a full-time position. You can choose the days you are available to work, allowing you to fit work around your existing commitments while gaining valuable experience within a secondary school environment.

The role will be offering a competitive daily rate of £95 – £110, depending on experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with pre-planned work and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment. No lesson planning or marking is required, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking for flexible work within education.

The School is Looking For:

Confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors who can effectively supervise classes across KS3 and KS4
Those with strong behaviour and classroom management skills who are comfortable managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
Individuals who are adaptable and confident supporting a variety of different subjects throughout the school day
Those with previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school or educational environment
Reliable and professional individuals who can be available for work on a flexible, day-to-day basis
Graduates considering a future career in teaching who are looking to gain valuable secondary school classroom experience are also encouraged to apply

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support. My agency contact, Alexa, has been great at providing information, fixing any miscommunications and has personally chased after my timesheet approvals. They didn't prep me anything about the school other than where it is, the age group and department that I'll be in but, I'm sure if I had asked for more details they would have provided them without issue.
