About the Role:As a Cover Teacher (also known as a Supply Teacher), youâ??ll step into classrooms when the regular teacher is unavailable, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged. Using pre-prepared lesson plans, youâ??ll deliver engaging sessions, manage behaviour effectively, and foster a positive learning environment.
QTS or equivalent is essential!Key Responsibilities:- Deliver lesson plans provided by the class teacher, adapting them where necessary to suit the needs and abilities of the group
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, fellow teachers, and senior leaders to maintain a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Encourage active participation, positive behaviour, and a love of learning
- Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and lunchtimes when required
- Administer assessments or tests fairly and consistently
- Gather and record completed classwork for the returning teacher
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, and when appropriate, with parents or carers about student progress or concerns
