Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Hounslow who are seeking an organised, calm, and caring Attendance and Medical Officer to join their dedicated support team.

This is a vital role within the school, ensuring that pupils receive high-quality care and that attendance processes run smoothly to support strong outcomes for every child.

This role is to start in January, until the end of the academic year, with potential to continue at the school for the next academic year.
 

The Attendance Officer role:
As the Attendance and Medical Officer, you will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the school office. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and recording student attendance daily, following up on absences, and supporting the school in driving improved attendance across all year groups.
  • Providing first aid and medical care to pupils, assessing needs calmly and professionally.
  • Managing and updating pupil medical records, care plans, and medication in line with school policies.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for parents and carers, offering clear, empathetic communication and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ensuring that safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection requirements are consistently upheld.

 
You must:

  • Have previous experience in a school office, attendance role, medical/first aid support role, or similar environment.
  • Hold a valid First Aid qualification (or be willing to undertake training).
  • Be confident using school MIS systems and working with attendance data.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with care.
  • Be committed to promoting pupil welfare and supporting the school’s safeguarding ethos.
