Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth, and they are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a long-term, full-time position with the potential to continue into the next academic year. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with additional learning needs, providing tailored support both in and out of the classroom to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you have previous experience supporting children with SEN, either within a school setting or through relevant childcare/support work.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Encourage independence and confidence while promoting positive learning experiences.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
What we're looking for:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.
