Inspire, Support and Empower Young LearnersHorizon Teachers is currently working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Islington that is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Whether you're an experienced LSA or looking to build a career within education, this role provides valuable classroom experience within a supportive school environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
- Assist students with SEND and additional learning requirements
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil participation
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents where appropriate
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work, or support setting
- A positive, patient, and nurturing attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children's learning and development
- SEND experience is advantageous but not essential
