Horizon Teachers are working exclusively with an exceptional alternative provision setting in West London, to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly supportive and nurturing environment, helping young people aged 11-16 who may have faced barriers to learning in mainstream education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them build confidence, develop resilience and engage positively with their education.

The Role
  • Supporting students in lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students' social and emotional development
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual targets
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, behavioural needs or vulnerable learners is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential
  • A genuine interest in education, youth work, psychology, social care or related fields
