Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school This is a full-time position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where applicable.
  • Encourage pupil participation, independence, and confidence within the classroom environment.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
  • Adapt learning resources and activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
  • Support pupils during break times, educational visits, and other school activities when required.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Promote safeguarding, welfare, and the wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
  • Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
