Horizon Teachers are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly respected specialist school in West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with complex additional needs and making a genuine difference every day.

The school caters for learners aged 7–19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), severe learning difficulties (PMLD), speech, language and communication needs, sensory processing difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The school is recognised for its inclusive, personalised approach and its commitment to helping every learner achieve their full potential within a supportive and nurturing environment. The school was most recently rated Good by Ofsted and is known for its highly skilled staff team and strong focus on pupil wellbeing and development.


The Role
  • Supporting pupils with a range of complex SEND needs both inside and outside the classroom
  • Delivering tailored interventions and personalised learning support
  • Assisting with communication, engagement, and emotional regulation strategies
  • Supporting students with personal care where required
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff to achieve positive outcomes for learners
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 6 months' experience working in a SEND school, specialist provision, care setting, or similar environment
  • Experience supporting children or young people with Autism, PMLD, SEMH, learning disabilities, or complex needs
  • Comfortable providing personal care support when required
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable with a positive attitude
  • Passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
