We are working with a welcoming Mainstream Primary School based in Lewisham, who are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team within their Additional Resourced Provision, starting after the May half-term, with potential to continue in the role until July 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

You will be working on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping to provide a nurturing, engaging and supportive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant -
  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD and dyslexia within the ARP.
  • Working alongside teachers and specialist staff to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
  • Supporting pupils’ communication, emotional regulation, social development and independence
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and contributing to reviews and planning
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
 
Required experience for this Teaching Assistant role -
  • Has experience of working with primary-aged children, ideally including children with SEND, such as Autism, speech and language needs, learning difficulties and/or social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Is patient, flexible and nurturing in their approach.
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with children and inspire confidence and independence.
