SEN Teaching Assistant – Wandsworth
Full-time | Long-term | Immediate start or after May Hald Term

We are working with a warm, well-led primary school in Wandsworth that is looking for an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team, you will be a key adult in a child’s day, someone who brings consistency, calm, and genuine care.
The child you’ll be supporting has additional needs, and the school is looking for someone who understands that progress isn’t always linear but is always possible with the right support.

This is a school that gets it right. Staff are supported. Leadership is present. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, people look out for each other here, and it shows in the classroom.

The role

  • 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
  • Helping to adapt learning so it’s accessible and meaningful
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo
  • Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and social development
  • Being a steady, positive presence every day

  • Be patient, grounded, and emotionally intelligent
  • Know how to build trust — especially with children who find school challenging
  • Stay calm when things don’t go to plan
