SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School | Lambeth | ASAP Start or After May Half Term A well-regarded, inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a key role within the school’s support staff structure, suited to someone confident leading interventions, supporting colleagues, and working closely with pupils with complex needs.
The school is looking for someone who brings strong SEN experience, initiative, and professional judgement.
The Role As a SEN TA, you will:- Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of needs.
- Lead small group and 1:1 interventions, tracking progress and adapting approaches where needed.
- Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to implement EHCP targets effectively.
- Support and guide other TAs within the classroom.
- Contribute to behaviour strategies that are consistent, calm, and child-centred.
- Build strong, professional relationships with staff, parents, and external specialists.
We are looking for individuals who:- Have substantial experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting.
- Are confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and measured way.
- Understand how to support pupils with additional needs without over-dependence.
- Can take initiative and lead by example within a classroom environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and parents.
