Role - SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a child with additional needs on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), both in and out of the classroom
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the child
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored support strategies
  • Support the child’s academic, social and emotional development
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Assist with personal care where required (if applicable)
  • Monitor progress and contribute to reports and reviews
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers and external professionals
 
About You
  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, or SEMH)
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to use initiative and adapt to changing needs
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential
  • A commitment to inclusion and helping every child achieve their best
