Horizon Teachers are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary school in East London, supporting children across Reception up to Year 6. You’ll be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within mainstream classes, as well as supporting small groups of children across a range of year groups.
Key Responsibilities- 1:1 and group support for children aged 5 – 11 years.
- Leading interventions with small groups, focusing on areas such as phonics, reading, and writing.
- Work with the class teacher, teaching assistants and wider inclusion team to deliver engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
- Help prepare and tidy the classroom throughout the day.
- Support with lunch-time duty.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in all pupils.
About You - Experience supporting children with SEND in a professional or personal capacity
- Confident working with children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
- Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
- A proactive, positive approach and a collaborative mindset
- Comfortable with personal care
