SEN Teaching Assistant

We’re working with a fantastic three-form entry primary school in Esher that is looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a school where support for children with additional needs is genuinely embedded in the culture of the school.

You will be supporting pupils with additional needs either 1:1 or in small groups, helping them access learning and feel confident in the classroom.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies that support learning, emotional regulation and engagement.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted SEN support within the classroom
  • Support pupils with focus, communication and emotional regulation
  • Adapt learning activities so pupils can fully access the curriculum
  • Help build pupils’ confidence, independence and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has strong experience supporting SEN pupils in a primary setting
  • Is calm, patient and able to build strong relationships with children
  • Understands strategies around autism, ADHD, speech & language or SEMH
  • Is proactive, positive and enjoys being part of a team
  • Wants to make a genuine difference to children who need extra support
