The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a Year 4 class. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning and who is confident in taking on HLTA responsibilities, including leading learning under the direction of the class teacher.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons in Year 4
  • Lead whole-class learning, small group sessions and interventions when required
  • Provide high-quality support to pupils, promoting progress, independence and positive behaviour
  • Assess, monitor and feedback on pupil progress to inform next steps in learning
  • Support the preparation of learning resources and the learning environment
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive classroom culture
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour expectations
 
About You
  • The successful candidate will:
  • Hold HLTA status (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Have experience working in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 4
  • Be confident leading lessons and covering classes when required
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive and committed to supporting pupil progress
  • Work effectively as part of a team and show flexibility and initiative
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection
