Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to individual pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and make sustained progress.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver differentiated learning activities that meet the needs of all learners.
  • Support small group interventions in key subjects such as reading, writing, and maths.
  • Implement strategies and using resources recommended in pupilsâ?? individual learning plans or EHCPs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, using a calm and consistent approach.
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in pupils, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support with assessment and tracking progress by observing, recording, and feeding back to teachers and the SENCO.
  • Assist in the creation of a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the schoolâ??s values.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to ensure consistent support strategies.
 
About You
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A calm, patient approach and strong communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to support learning across all age groups.
