Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher delivering high quality teaching and learning, including helping prepare resources, organising classroom materials, and assisting with lesson planning where needed.
  • Working with small groups or individual students to support learning, including those who may need extra help (additional learning needs or EAL)
  • Supporting the implementation of the schoolâ??s curriculum. This may include helping Early Years, assisting with reading, numeracy and other foundation subjects
  • Monitoring and encouraging hood behaviour, helping ensure a calm and positive learning environment
  • Liaising with teaching staff, SEN coordinators and other colleagues to help track pupil progress and respond to individual needs
  • Help supervise pupils during non-classroom time (breaks, lunch, transitions) as required.
 
About the Candidate
  • Has experience working with children (ideally aged 4 -11) either in schools or similar settings
  • Has a genuine commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their potential, including those with special educational needs or for whom have EAL
  • Is patient, adaptable and resilient, able to respond to the varying needs of children in a busy classroom
  • (Desirable) Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Education, CACHE, TA qualification) or experience with special educational needs/ behaviour support
