The Opportunity
Horizon Teachers are proud to be working in exclusive partnership with a highly respected specialist education provider supporting young people aged 16–25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a structured, supportive programme focused on employability, independence, and real-world skills. You’ll be working with higher-ability SEN learners (Entry Level 3 to Level 2), helping them prepare for supported internships and future employment.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons using a RARPA framework
- Support learners in developing employability, independence, and life skills
- Embed English, Maths, and personal development into teaching
- Deliver PSHE and work-readiness sessions
Learner Development- Prepare students for supported internships, including:
- Work experience placements
- Interview preparation
- Confidence building
- Independent travel training
Assessment & Progress- Monitor and track learner progress using RARPA
- Produce reports and contribute to progress and annual reviews
- Maintain and review individual learning plans and targets
Collaboration & Curriculum- Work closely with senior leadership and support staff
- Contribute to curriculum planning and resource development
- Support development of work experience opportunities and employer links
Safeguarding & Professional Standards- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies
- Work collaboratively with families and carers
- Engage in ongoing CPD (minimum 30 hours annually)
About You- Experience working with young people with SEN (essential)
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of functional skills (English & Maths)
- Passion for supporting young people into employment and independence
- Teaching qualification (or working towards – e.g. Level 3 AET or Level 5 DET)
Additional Information- Full-time, permanent position with a 6-month probation period
- Some flexibility required (occasional evening events)
- Subject to enhanced DBS check (child & adult workforce)
