A friendly primary school in Kingston is looking to appoint a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. Main Duties
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support children with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Implement strategies and interventions outlined in EHCPs and support plans
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and outside agencies
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and feedback
  • Support pupils during classroom learning, breaktimes and school activities where required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school or childcare setting
  • Is calm, patient and nurturing in their approach
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Understands the importance of inclusive education and personalised support
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is flexible, resilient and able to adapt to pupils’ individual needs
  • Has good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
