Horizon Teachers are working with a Primary school in Lewisham, assisting in their search for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to support children across Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2, supporting pupils with SEND including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs.  
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils across Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 on a 1:1 basis
  • Use effective approaches to resolving conflict and promote positive behaviour to encourage a calm, safe learning environment.
  • Work with the class teacher, teaching assistants and wider inclusion team to deliver engaging, differentiated learning experiences.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience in all pupils.
  • Follow learning plans and support pupils throughout the full school day.
 
About You
  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a professional or personal capacity
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Confident working with children across Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
  • Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
  • A proactive, positive approach and a collaborative mindset
