A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kingston is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs, ensuring their individual learning and emotional needs are met
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies and interventions
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the pupil’s needs and promote engagement
  • Support the pupil’s social development and encourage positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff on the pupil’s development
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
 
About You
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification or SEN-related training) are desirable but not essential
