SEN Teaching Assistant – HillingdonLocation: Hillingdon, West London
Salary: £90–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hillingdon. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive within a nurturing classroom environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, ensuring every child can reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs)
- Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
- Implement EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback where required
- Encourage independence, confidence, and a positive attitude to learning
About You- Have experience working with children with SEN (school-based or similar setting)
- Be adaptable, resilient, and able to respond to individual pupil needs
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Show a genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Be enthusiastic about creating a positive and supportive learning environment
