Horizon Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Southwark, London. This is a rewarding role where you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

About you
  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally within an SEN or education setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience supporting students with needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, or SEMH (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and helping every student reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals where required.
