ELSA Trained Teaching Assistant required for a Primary School based in North London – Part-time or full-time
We are currently seeking an experienced ELSA-trained Teaching Assistant to join a primary school for the upcoming Summer Term, with potential to extend into the Autumn term. This role will focus on delivering targeted emotional and social support interventions to Key Stage 2 pupils.
The successful candidate will work 1:1 with pupils as well as deliver small group ELSA sessions, helping children develop emotional literacy, resilience, and positive social skills. Additional support may also be required for other pupils within the school where needed.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver structured ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) interventions
- Provide 1:1 emotional and social support to pupils
- Lead small group sessions for Year 4 pupils
- Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, confidence, and communication skills
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor pupil progress
- Provide additional classroom or pastoral support where required
Requirements- ELSA training (essential)
- Proven experience delivering ELSA interventions in schools
- Experience supporting primary-aged pupils
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with school staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient, empathetic, and supportive approach with children
