The RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and compassionate
Teaching Assistant to join our team, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work within different year groups, providing targeted support on a
one-to-one and
small group basis, as well as assisting in broader classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with SEND in both one-to-one and small group settings to help them access the curriculum and achieve personal goals.
- Assist class teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated activities tailored to individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence and social interaction in line with classroom expectations.
- Help prepare and adapt resources to support learning and participation.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to teachers and the SENDCo.
- Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils to foster confidence and resilience.
- Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful atmosphere.
Person Specification- Has patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
- Is confident working with pupils with diverse needs, including SEND.
- Communicates effectively with children and adults alike.
- Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when appropriate.
- Has previous experience in a school setting (desirable but not essential).
