Are you a passionate SEN Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference?

We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to support pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), including non-verbal learners, in a nurturing and well-supported school environment.
This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in helping pupils develop communication, independence, and life skills at their own pace.
You will be teaching a small class of pupils with complex needs, delivering highly personalised lessons tailored to individual abilities.
The school provides a structured, supportive setting where every achievement-big or small-is celebrated.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SLD
  • Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families
  • Focusing on communication, sensory learning, and life skills development
  • Monitoring progress and adapting strategies to meet individual needs
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly SLD or complex needs
  • Is patient, creative, and highly adaptable
  • Has knowledge of autism and non-verbal communication strategies (preferred)
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Holds QTS or relevant teaching qualification (preferred but not always essential)

Why Horizon Teachers?

  • You will be paid the permanent equivalent for the job after 12 weeks, in many cases from day one
  • Earn up to £300 in vouchers of your choice for successful referrals!
