Horizon Teachers is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 3 pupil on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a child with low-level additional needs, helping them build confidence, engage in learning, and make excellent progress.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in supporting the pupil both academically and socially, while encouraging independence throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with low-level additional needs.
- Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities.
- Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
- Adapt learning activities to suit the pupil's individual needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
What we're looking for:- Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring, and positive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
