Horizon Teachers is working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Mentor for a full-time, long-term position. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and pastoral support to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Working closely with the pastoral team, class teachers, and SENCO, you will build positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and strategies to succeed in school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and other additional needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and improve behaviour for learning.
  • Support pupils in managing their emotions using positive behaviour and de-escalation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to implement behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to staff.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
What we're looking for:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural or additional needs in a school, youth work, or care setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
