Looking to build a rewarding career supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting pupils with additional needs in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Working alongside experienced teachers and the SENCO, you will provide tailored support to help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Support pupils' learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
What we're looking for:
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or care setting.
  • Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or other additional needs is advantageous.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine commitment to helping every child succeed.
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
