Horizon Teachers is working in partnership with a supportive and well-resourced primary school in Barnet, seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
In this rewarding role, you'll provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and offers a collaborative environment where every member of staff is valued.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage pupil engagement.
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence throughout the school day.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
What we're looking for:- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH is desirable.
- A patient, resilient, and positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
