SEMH Teaching Assistant (Year 5) Location: Sutton (Primary)

Salary: £600 - £620 per week
Horizon Teachers are working in partnership with a Primary School in Sutton seeking a committed
SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a
Year 5 pupil on a one-to-one basis, starting immediately.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and who can build positive, trusting relationships to help a child thrive both academically and emotionally.
The role will involve:- Providing 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support team
- Helping the pupil access the curriculum and develop social skills
- Creating a safe, nurturing and consistent learning environment
We are looking for someone who:- Has experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs (desirable)
- Is calm, patient, resilient and empathetic
- Can use positive behaviour strategies effectively
- Is able to work well as part of a team and follow individual support plans
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
