Your responsibilities may include:

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum
Monitoring and assessing pupils’ progress and using data to inform next steps
Supporting children with their academic, social, and emotional development
Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in a calm and consistent way
Encouraging independence, confidence, and a love of learning
Working closely with teaching assistants, SEN staff, and families
Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Taking part in whole-school initiatives, meetings, and CPD opportunities
Supporting pupils during lessons, breaks, and other aspects of the school day

We’re interested in hearing from candidates who have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching in a primary setting (NQTs/RQTs welcome to apply)
A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build strong, positive relationships with children
A calm and consistent approach to behaviour
The confidence to work independently while also being a strong team player
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential

From the start, Paul (Primary Team) and David (Secondary Team) have both been incredibly supportive, approachable, and professional, making the whole process smooth and reassuring. I’ve been working with both a primary and a secondary consultant, and the communication between them has been excellent. They’ve always been available to answer questions and provide guidance whenever needed. The support I received before starting my placement was especially helpful. My consultant gave me great insight into the school, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going in. I also completed their Teaching Assistant training, along with Safeguarding Level 1 and Level 2, which were both very informative and valuable. A special thanks to David for checking in with me when things were a bit challenging — it really made a difference and showed genuine care and support. The ones that create empty promises to keep your interest and who want to benefit more from your hardwork than yourself. Melanie proved that Horizon was a cut above the rest. From the very start, Melanie was keen on getting employment that fulfilled my wishes.
