Are you an experienced Music Teacher or current Head of Department looking for an exciting leadership opportunity from September?

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Music position within a well-supported secondary school in Croydon. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and creative educator to lead a successful Music department and inspire students across Key Stages 3–5.
The school values creativity, inclusion, and high academic standards, providing students with opportunities to develop both academically and personally through a broad and engaging curriculum.

Key responsibilities:
• Leading the Music department across the secondary school
• Planning and delivering engaging Music lessons across KS3–KS5
• Supporting curriculum development and departmental improvement
• Monitoring student progress and encouraging high achievement
• Organising performances, extracurricular activities, and school events
• Supporting and mentoring staff within the department

The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Music within secondary schools
• Previous leadership or departmental responsibility experience desirable
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A passion for music education and student development
