Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of hearing-impaired students?

We are currently seeking a BSL Teaching Assistant to support students with hearing impairments within a mainstream school setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of BSL Level , with preference given to those holding BSL Level 2 or higher.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to hearing-impaired students across KS1 to KS4
  • Facilitate communication using BSL in the classroom and during school activities
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored learning programmes and interventions
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • BSL Level 1 (essential); Level 3 (desirable)
  • Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired children
  • Understanding of the educational needs of students with sensory impairments
  • A positive, patient, and flexible approach
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
