Join our team as a Behaviour Mentor and help shape the future of young learners in London!
We are working with an Alternative Provision in Westminster that are aiming to find specialist support staff to help with learners who have been excluded from mainstream school.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
- Implementing behaviour intervention plans and strategies in collaboration with teachers and other specialists.
- Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviours and social skills.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Assisting teachers in classroom management and promoting a harmonious learning environment.
- Building strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues to facilitate effective communication.
What the ideal individual will have:
- Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and intervention strategies.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications or training in behaviour management (desirable but not mandatory).
